Chassis health monitoring
For supported devices, platform faults are retrieved directly from the chassis through an API and displayed in the health monitor.
The Chassis health faults table displays active and reported health faults for the selected chassis. Each row shows the fault severity, fault code, description, occurrence count, and the time the fault was detected or last reported. Use this information to identify hardware, interface, or subsystem issues and determine the troubleshooting priority.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Severity |
Indicates the impact level of the chassis fault. Use this field to prioritize troubleshooting. It shows these severity levels: Critical: Indicates a severe fault that can affect chassis operation, availability, or redundancy. Immediate investigation is recommended. Major: Indicates a serious fault that can affect system performance, availability, or hardware redundancy if not addressed. Minor: Indicates a lower-impact fault that does not immediately affect overall system operation but should be reviewed. Warning: Indicates a condition that may require attention before it impacts service. Informational: Provides status or event information. No immediate corrective action is required. Cleared: Indicates that a previously reported fault has been resolved or is no longer active. |
| Code | Displays the unique fault code for the reported chassis issue. You can use this code when you review logs or contact Cisco Support. |
| Faults | Describes the detected chassis fault, including the affected component, interface, or subsystem and its current condition. |
| Occurrence | Shows how many times the same fault was detected. |
| Time | Displays the date and time when the fault was last detected or reported. |
