Application filters

System-provided application filters help you perform application control by organizing applications according to basic characteristics: type, risk, business relevance, category, and tags. In the object manager, you can create and manage reuseable user-defined application filters based on combinations of the system-provided filters, or on custom combinations of applications.

You can select your custom application filters in various policies that allow application matching, such as access control, QoS, intelligent application bypass, and decryption.

• To create the filter, use the system provided filters to find applications, select those applications, and click Add to Rule.

• To remove an application from the filter, click the delete icon next to the application.

• Click the info icon next to an application to see information about it.
