Snort inspection engine

A Snort inspection engine is an integral traffic analysis component that

• analyzes traffic in real time to provide deep packet inspection,

• operates as part of the Secure Firewall Threat Defense (formerly Firepower Threat Defense) device, and

• enables network analysis and intrusion policies to detect and protect against intrusions.
