Configure BFD

This task enables and configures the Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD) routing policy on your system to provide rapid detection of faults in the forwarding path.

BFD is used to quickly detect failures in the forwarding path between two routers, improving network stability and convergence times. Perform this task when you need to implement BFD for enhanced routing reliability.

Before you begin

Ensure you have access to the system where you want to configure BFD.

Follow these steps to configure BFD:

Procedure

Step 1	Create BFD Template.
Step 2	Configure BFD policies.
Step 3	Configure BFD support in the BGP neighbor settings; see, Step 13.

BFD is enabled and configured on your system.
