Model mapping

Model mapping lets you map template-defined interfaces to the interfaces of the Firewall Threat Defense model you require.

Model mapping requirements

Create model mappings in the template before applying the template to the device. During template application, the variables in the interface configurations are replaced with the values that you provide, then the resulting configurations are copied to the mapped interfaces on the device.

Interface configurations differ for each device model, so you must copy interface configurations from the template to the device’s target interfaces.
