Add a variable

Add variables to create reusable configuration elements that can be applied across multiple device templates, enabling consistent and efficient policy management.

Variables provide a way to standardize configuration elements across your deployment. You can create variables for network objects, ports, or other configurable elements that need to be consistent across multiple devices or policies.

Follow these steps to add a variable:

Step 1

Choose Objects.

Step 2

Choose Variable from the list of object types.

Step 3

Click Add Variable.

Step 4

Enter a Name.

In a multi-domain deployment, object names must be unique within the domain hierarchy. The system may identify a conflict with the name of an object you cannot view in your current domain.

Step 5

Choose a Variable Type from the drop-down list.

Step 6

(Optional) Enter a Description.

Step 7

Click Save.
